My Review of Cathay Pacific Airline

I needed to fly from Hong Kong to London urgently and I found that Cathay Pacific Airways had a schedule where I could check availability quickly. The great thing I noticed about it is that you can check their schedules up to 12 months in advance to help you plan your trip. I decided to phone to book my flight although it is possible to book online. I was making the phone call late on in the evening and I was worried that it would take a long time to answer my call. It was fantastic when the customer advisor answered to straight away! The person on the other end was very helpful and gave me all the information I needed regarding my flight. They managed to answer all my questions and made me feel happy to be flying with them.

The day came for my flight and I used the online booking service to make sure I was ready for my flight and it saved me some time. I also used their Notify messaging service to send a text message to my mobile phone to let me know that my flight was still on schedule. This service is also available on the website too. I arrived at the airport and checked my baggage in. I asked the check-in attendant to check whether it was arranged for my special meal on board (I am a strict vegetarian). She confirmed that it was all noted. They were very organized and they serve many different types of food to cater for all tastes and dietary needs.

Once I had checked in online and handed over my baggage I went to relax a little in the First Class passengers lounge. It was wonderful to be able to relax and take some time out. The lounge also has a lot of useful facilities such as television, showers, photocopier and a fax machine. It also has wonderful refreshments which are served by waiters and waitresses. It feels more like you are in your own personal room instead of waiting in an airport lounge! I settled down after a long, hot shower and made an international phone call to London from the airport lounge.

I also asked if I could use my laptop on board the flight at all. I knew it was a long shot but I really needed to have access to it as much as possible. To my amazement I was able to use my laptop since I had a universal power adapter. I was informed that this service was available in Economy, Business and First class cabins. There is also an in-flight phone that you can use on board the plane. I also found information regarding the in-flight entertainment. I checked on my laptop in the airport and they were showing great up-to-date films, even in the Economy class. There is also the choice of great music and television programs to help you relax on your flight. It is also possible to have computer style games to play on your personal television at your seat!

Once I was on board I was able to relax and spend the time needed on my laptop. After I had finished with my laptop I sat back and relaxed to watch a movie. As well as my specially prepared meal which was delicious, there was a whole range of nutritious and tasty snacks available from noodles to ice cream. The great thing is that the food is available all the time, so if you wake up hungry during the night, there is still tasty food available. There was also a fantastic selection of wines available as well as coffee of all kinds, and Chinese tea.

I must say that the flight attendants were very friendly and provided a very professional service. They were always present to help you with any questions or queries that I had. Once the flight had arrived at London I was given a cheerful goodbye and made my way to the baggage hall. My luggage was all safe and sound and was all there! My research had found that had I not been traveling to London I could have had an extra item of personal baggage to take on board the flight; this is available if you are traveling to other destinations.

All in all I can state truthfully that my experience of booking and flying with Cathay Pacific Airways was stress free, organized and very professional. All of the staff that I spoke to were very friendly and were able to help me in every way possible- it seemed there was no request too big for them. I would thoroughly recommended this airline to anyone who flies, particularly if it is a regular occurrence.
